From invoice to Excel in four steps
1. Upload the invoice
Drop the PDF or the JPG/PNG invoice on the upload area; you can select several invoices at once.
2. The fields are read
The document is recognised as an invoice, and the invoice number, date, vendor and buyer names and tax IDs, subtotal, VAT rate and amount, total and amount due each get their own column.
3. Check the table
Fields that could not be read or were computed are flagged, and a row whose subtotal, VAT and total do not add up gets a warning. Open the row's document to compare, and correct the cell.
4. Download
Download Excel (XLSX), CSV or JSON. You can hide, reorder and rename the columns to match your accounting software first.
PDF or photo?
Text-based PDFs, such as invoices exported from billing or accounting software, give the most accurate result. Scanned PDFs and photos are read too; use a flat, sharp image with all four edges visible. On the free allowance a PDF can have up to 10 pages, and each page counts toward the daily allowance.
E-invoices and XML
Upload the PDF version of an e-invoice. XML formats such as UBL cannot be uploaded; save the invoice as a PDF or an image first.
Invoice OCR questions
How do I convert a PDF invoice to Excel?
Drop the PDF invoice on the upload area on this page; the fields are written into a table. Check it and download XLSX. Amounts are written as real numbers, not text, so sums and pivot tables work straight away.
Are the buyer's details read too?
Yes. On invoices the buyer name and the buyer's tax ID get their own columns, next to the vendor name and the vendor's tax ID.
Can I upload several invoices at once?
Yes. Select the files together and each invoice gets its own row. The free allowance is 10 pages a day: an image counts as one page, a PDF counts each of its pages.
Are my invoices stored?
No. Files are processed only to read them and are not stored on our servers; the table exists only in your browser and in the file you download.
